Local Petland’s Paws for Cause Event Raises More Than $22,300 for Shelters

Petland Norwin is excited to announce their Second Annual Paws for the Cause Charity Event on October 14 raised more than $22,300 for three shelters, signifying a 35 percent increase over last year’s event. More than 425 people attended the sold out event at Stratigo’s Banquet Center featuring dinner, live K-9 demonstration, live auction, silent auction, and door prizes.

All proceeds will be going to the Pet Adoption League, Catawba Humane Society and Grand Strand Humane Society. Each will be receiving $7,430.

“We are overwhelmed and thrilled with the support we received from the community and more than 50 local businesses for this event,” said co-owner Ted Karcher. “Not only was it a great night of food and entertainment, we were able to raise significant dollars to help our shelter partners.”

Since opening in April of 2016, Petland Norwin has worked with different rescues and humane societies to adopt out more than 1,600 pets.
