Fundraiser for cystic fibrosis April 6 at Greenfield VFW Ranch; Petland of Chillicothe thanked for support

Over the weekend, we had an amazing experience at Petland in Chillicothe, and I truly believe that we should not only thank them in a big way, but also make sure that everyone knows how much they did for a little girl in our community.
Greenfield Elementary School pupil Ava Everhart has cystic fibrosis. Ava and her sister, Zoie, created a dream list that we wanted to try and fulfill while Ava is young and as healthy as possible. Ava’s first dream was to have a Pomeranian puppy.
After a little convincing, her mother said it was fine, and I went to work calling different pet stores. When I spoke with Petland in Chillicothe, they directed me to the corporate office, where I received a phone call after sending an email. They were “all in,” and when they found out it was Ava’s birthday March 30, they decided to do a surprise birthday party for her in the store. It was absolutely amazing.
They treated all of us like royalty with a full tour, petting and holding animals (teaching us about them as we went along), a full shopping spree (donated) for Ava’s new puppy (also donated), and they are also paying the vet bills for life (knowing how expensive it is for Ava’s parents to use gas to and from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and medical bills).
They are even coming to our April 6 event to share and teach about their animals.
Ava’s Magical Unicorns benefit for cystic fibrosis will be noon-11 p.m. Saturday, April 6 at the VFW Ranch in Greenfield. There will be a huge silent auction, car show, band, outdoor games, a cornhole tournament, Kona ice, food trucks, face painting, a bouncy house, poker run and more.
Everyone is welcome. The VFW Ranch is located at 12868 Watt Road, Greenfield.
